Brighton Beach |
Aussie Day. My hubby and I decided to visit Brighton Beach
because I have always wanted to see the famous Brighton Bathing Boxes. So, we
hopped in the Sandringham Railway Line at the Flinders Station and got off at
Brighton Beach Railway Station. I couldn’t believe it was only 23 minutes away
from the city. It was really beautiful but the weather was extremely hot. Way
too hot to walk. I felt my skin burned. Nonetheless, I was amazed how the
Aussies didn’t seem bothered by the scorching sun. Most of them just baked their
body tan. Being an Asian, we came with our cap, glasses, and umbrella. Funny sight for some but I couldn’t let the
sun hurt my skin. Sorry! My skin is already damaged; I don’t want to add more. I
observed that the ladies wore 2-piece swimsuit regardless of the body shape. Mad
props for the confidence! Too bad, I was so self-conscious of my body that I
didn’t even bother bringing mine with me. Oh! How I wish I had my swimsuit!

We
had our dinner at some random café near the beach. The slushies really helped
with the heat.

We strolled along the beach looking for the bath box but not until
we found a perfect spot for us to rest… shady and grassy. We lay there and
enjoyed the view for some time. Our friends arrived after a couple of hours.
They brought spaghetti and dorritos…both my favorites!

Afterwards, we walked
our way to the famous Brighton Bath Boxes. So cute! So colourful and vibrant! However, I noticed that
very few people rented those tiny boxes. My friend told me they are expensive,
maybe that’s why. All I know is that they look good in photos. So we took tons
of photos.
